200 Pounds Beauty (2006)

200 Pounds Beauty (; lit. "Hard to be a beauty") is a 2006 South Korean comedy film based on a Japanese manga, Kanna-san, Daiseikou Desu (カンナさん大成功です!) by Yumiko Suzuki. The story is about an overweight girl who undergoes extreme plastic surgeries to become a pop sensation. The film was a financial success, earning approximately $45 million against its $4 million budget. It was also critically well-received, winning Best Actress for Kim Ah-joong and Best Cinematography for Park Hyeon-cheol at the 2007 Grand Bell Awards, together with nominations for Best Film and Best Director. The film received 6,619,498 admissions nationwide becoming the 3rd highest grossing Korean production of the year.
