America Ammayi (1976)
America Ammayi (Telugu: అమెరికా అమ్మాయి) is a 1976 Telugu film directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao. A remake of the 1975 Tamil film Melnaattu Marumagal, the cross over film was based on the story of Telugu cultural importance in comparison to the western culture. French dancer Anne Chaymotty later became Devayani acted in the main role. She was learning Kuchipudi dance from Vempati Chinna Satyam. The film was big hit and Ranganath as actor, Srinivasa Rao as director got very good name. G. K. Venkatesh provided the music score.
