Snow White (1916)
Snow White (1916) is an American silent romantic fantasy film directed by J. Searle Dawley based on the Winthrop Ames (using the pseudonym "Jessie Graham White") Broadway play, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1912). Tha latter was adapted from the Grimm brothers 1812 fairy tale. In the film's lead roles were: Marguerite Clark and Creighton Hale. A print of the film survives in George Eastman House collections. The Walt Disney 1937 animated film is an adaptation.
